FEATURING NEW YORK BARS:

With Izzy Tulloch + Sadie Mays

No. 44 | North America’s 50 Best Bars 2024

ABOUT THE BAR

Once a beloved SoHo haunt, Milady’s was a destination for good drinks and even better company for well over 50 years. Here at the new Milady’s, the convivial neighborhood feel returns with great people and elevated food and cocktail offerings. This one-of-a-kind bar and restaurant embodies the spirit of New York —a place for connecting, conversing and imbibing.

We take our drinks very seriously. The quality and innovation will be what you have come to expect from us at Flatiron Lounge, the Pegu Club, Clover Club and Leyenda. However, this historic building at the corner of Prince and Thompson has a soul, and its history has dictated our path. We used to hang out at Milady’s in the 90’s and 2000’s. It was whiskey on the rocks or a shot and a beer, and the greatest Jukebox line up of all time… We always tried to squeeze in a game of pool, and a burger would most certainly be had before last call. This space was meant for Milady’s and we are humbled and honored to occupy it now.

ABOUT THE BAR

It all began with the creation of the bar Two Schmucks in Barcelona in 2017, built from scratch without investors or language advantage. The bar, embodying a “five star dive” concept, gained global recognition for its innovative cocktails. In early 2019, Moe Aljaff and his partner secured funding to rebuild Two Schmucks, earning further acclaim. In 2020, Juliette Larrouy joined Two Schmucks as bar manager.

The success of Two Schmucks, including securing a spot in the World’s 50 Best Bars, led to the opening of two new bars on the same street in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, Moe, Juliette, and the team moved on from Two Schmucks and found success with a Miami residency before deciding to open their own bar in New York. Partnering with Dan Bink, they began constructing Schmuck. in the east village, slated to debut in September 2024, and marking their entry into the New York bar scene.
